With deadlines looming, lots of gigs, and various other commitments, I'm not always managing to check out the things that are emailed to me for posting on the blog - but I was pretty interested to find this in my inbox. Collective London Contemporary Voices, the capital's leading contemporary choir, who have worked with a list of great artists too long to reel off, have a first 'takeover show' at the beautiful Bush Hall (in Shepherd's Bush) in May. I saw (some) of LCV playing alongside favourites of mine, The Sea & I, at the end of 2014 (post about that here), and I'm particularly fond of an Amber Run session that they feature in for Mahogany Sessions - so are a lot of other people, it seems, as the video (below) has over a million views!
They are hosting a show at Bush Hall on 8th May, where special guests Sam Brookes and Tom Speight head a line up including a selection of others artists (Kin Choir, La Qualia, Kate Westall, Connor Roff, Cerian, Elimarit, Sasha and Freya Lily). The beautiful venue (where I went to a Bushstock show in June, and saw King Charles in July) will also have a magical lantern installation from artist Jennie Fagerstrom. In these stunning surrounds, and with a specially curated line-up, the choir will be performing cover tracks of artists such as Bon Iver, Ben Howard and Imogen Heap, and the night should be really special indeed!
