LISTEN: Bella McKendree releases 'Waiting' EP

Released a couple of weeks ago, I'm pleased to share this beautiful debut EP from Bella McKendree. This raw and emotional set of tracks is held together by stunning vocals, intertwined with electric guitar and trip-hop-esque drums (think Catgod), earning Bella comparisons to the likes of London Grammar and The xx. As one of five siblings, songwriting started as an escape for Bella at a young age, discovering the piano at age 11, which she describes as "a very special time and an intimate experience. From a young age I felt the need to express issues I saw around me. That’s my fire; singing for something bigger than myself, a reason beyond what I see." Bella moved to London in 2016 to start a band and has since performed at various Sofar Sounds shows as well as playing support slots for the likes of Keaton Henson and Martin Luke Brown - you can catch her EP launch at St Luke's Church in Kentish Town on 7th Sep (tickets here.)
